Many people will not have used the facilities of a Pawnbroker possibly through not understanding how the system works or because of misinformation about a historically misaligned profession. The concept is quite simple; a prospective Pledgee (borrower) takes an item (jewellery) as collateral to the Pledgor (lender/pawnbroker). The Pledgee has up to seven months to return to the Pawnbroker and redeem the Pledge if not the Pawnbroker will sell the item by the most efficient means available.
The new age of pawnbroking has arrived, good loans are offered on items of gold and diamond jewellery plus, quality branded watches Rolex, Cartier, Omega etc., a pawnbroking transaction is a modern experience but retaining traditional values and service.
We are able to guarantee that all items offered for sale have been checked cleaned and confirmed to be as they are presented, for instance gold offered with a carat weight is hallmarked and stones offered as diamonds are guaranteed to be diamonds. As you would rightly expect there is no risk.
The Gemcabin Group firmly believes that membership and close links to our trade organizations – The National Pawnbrokers Association and The British Cheque Cashers Association are an absolute necessity in order to be aware of all current activities within these trading sectors.
